1987 2.3 cobra
My problem is this, engine idles for hours with just a little load up problem that resolves after nuetral and running engine at higher rpm for a few seconds,however...we were in the ocean yesterday and trolling around a few hours and as I mentioned after occasional loading up and reving in nuetral it would idle fine again for 1/2hr or so. When we went to go in, the boat bogged down and had low rpms and never cleared up.
After reaching the dock I checked the oil and had gas in the oil. I think I have a carb problem. I opened the fuel pump for inspection and it looks good, no holes in the diaphrams.I called several parts stores with the numbers off my pump and carb and none of them could find the parts by these numbers. I had checked on the coast at a marine service dealer also while we were there and he had the same problem locating either of them, and told me they were discontinued! I know there has to be replacement parts for these and I just happened to get ahold of some one who didnt care to help me.
Does any one know the current part #'s for the replacement parts or where I could find them.I have searched the net and still no luck. The salmon are here and I really need help finding these things.
All help is greatly appreciated.
I have a rochester 2 jet carb # 17086907 and the fuel pump is a carter flange# 60565
RonB
