My 1976 mercury 7.5hp ser. #: 4554878 has had the card rebuilt but still does not pump fuel to carb. In order to keep running i have to keep pumping the primer ball on the full line to keep fuel in the carb. I purchased it used a month ago and the seller did not have the fuel line so I purchased one from basspro shop. Could the line not be the proper line? Why is the fuel not pumping to the carb on it's own?

Re: carb problem

if carbs are right, it may be fuel pump not pulling fuel tp the carbs once primer is full

Re: carb problem

you can tear in to the fuel pump and see if diaphrams are hard, if so, they need replacing, if still soft you have other problems
