Spring is finally here.. Opened my engine cover for the first time in months and noticed the following: The bowls under the carbs have a drop of really oily gas under them. The bowls have a srew at the bottom. Suppose this is for draining, right? Is it possible that the left overs from summer are leaking out of the bowl and do I need to change the seals to carbs?

And an other thing.. If the needle valve(s) leaks, is it possible to have such a rich mixture that it blows unburned gas out of the exhaust port? Cant notice the oily water when driving, but when engine idles, it really shows. Engine runs great and works good at any revs. I had these problems last summer and I havent check compressions yet. As I turn the engine by flywheel with hands, there doesnt seem to be differences between cylinders, but that is just a wish.. Ive read that it could be a burned headgasket.

-jaba-
