:(:( OK here's the deal my carb puked on me last weekend, SO I DID WHAT I ALWAYS DO. I took it back home tore down the carb bought a rebuild kit, put it together and BAM same thing, it runs great on the low side but as soon as i try to pour the coals to her she bogs down and starts missing. I checked the timing, good there, i checked everything i can't figure it out. Does anyone know what i am doing wrong. I have a 1989 Four Winns 170 Freedom 2.3 liter Ford with a Rochester 2GC 2 Jet. I'm not a happy camper as i just bought this boat.:mad:

Did you check fuel pressure? It maybe enough to idle but not run hard.

Re: Carb Problems, Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That was going to be my next area to look at, i thought it odd how numerious carb float settings, didn't do anything as i can't seem to get a nice smooth idle. However idle improves when i unplug my vacuum line for the choke, I put it back on and i get low idle and its very rough. I'm very frustrated as i'm starting to miss my o'l Mercury outboard. This is the 1st inboard i have owned and i not pleased.
