I have a 1884 25 hp 2 stroke E25RLCRD I belive is the model its a long shaft rope/ele start. Can I get more out of it by putting a 30hp carb on it? Will it bolt up and work? It runs fine now but if I can squeak out a little more that would be great:D

Re: Carb question

proper trim angle, engine height and load balance, will get you more, and cost less.

Re: Carb question

yep, save your money. You will need a good GPS to see any difference. You sure won't feel it.

Re: Carb question

Has to be at least 30 years old to even be considered a "classic", according to the Antique Outboard Motor Club www.aomci.org

Re: Carb question

Yup, 1884 predates Ole Evinrude's first publically displayed rowboat motor in 1909. I wonder how he was able to keep this earlier gem hidden? :)
