carb rebuild 3.0 merc alpha1

good afternoon,
I'm going to tear into my carb after work and throw a rebiuld kit in it. Replacing seals and gaskets is no big deal but I'm wondering if anny one has any advise on setting all my adjustments after I'm done. Seeing how I'm in my driveway and not on the water with the boat under a load I'm a little unclear on how to make sure that every thing is set right.

The rebuild should have came with instructions on how to set the carb up so it will run until you can get the boat back in the water to finish adjusting the idle and mixture. Do you have a 2 Barrel?
