Re: Carb rebuild kit

You may not need anything except a float bowl gasket. The carb jets are not the same size, do not mix jets. If the float needles are steel tipped, do not clean with harsh carb cleaner, there is rubber/plastic float needle seat in carb body that will be ruined. The hot setup is to convert to seat and needle with rubber tip.

Clayton: So basically nothing other than gaskets come in a rebuild kit and you have to order everything else seperate. I guess what I was wondering if the float and needle and seat come with the kit. Also where can a guy order this from? Whats happening with mine is I shut it down and the gas is running into the crankcase and I got to pull the plugs to get it restarted again from being flooded.

Re: Carb rebuild kit

Have you check the fuel pump diaphram? The problem with the carbs is find someone that can locate the correct needle and seat. The all steel needle seat is pressed into the carb body, you screw a sheet metal screw into the seat and pry the seat out with a screwdriver, VERY EASY TO BREAK the carb body, should use a small slide hammer to remove seat, tap new seat in place with small hammer. You will not know which seat the carb has until you open the carb, and some carbs have been patched by putting needle with rubber tip in seat that calls for a steel needle.

Re: Carb rebuild kit

Clayton: Thanks you answered my question perfectly. Why did they go with pressing that seat in there and not going with just being able to just screwing it in. I did buy a new diaphram and am going to try that first. And I hope that takes care of it. Have they had alot of problems do you know with the needle and seat with these carbs? Also do you think if the diaphram doesn't take care of it that possibly a piece of dirt got in there? Thanks again you've been alot of help.
