Carb Replace - Frozen Fuel Line

I am in the process of replacing a carburetor on my 1988 350 Crusader engine. The fuel line attached to the carburetor just won't budge. I am afraid of rounding over the nut if I force it too much. I tried liquid wrench and WD 40. Any suggestions?

There is a type of box wrench that is closed except for a gap for the fuel line that should give a good grip. Don't know what it is called but it looks like a normal box whench that has a slot cut in it.

I believe it is called a line wrench, if im not mistaken. If you go to an auto parts store and tell them the you want a wrench that is made for remove brake line fittings that is what it is. Also you can try to put some diesel fuel on it to lossen up the gummed fuel holding it. If all else fails you can use a pipe cutter and cut it out. Then you can completely drain the carb and let dry and flush. Then use a heat gun (careful only to heat the fitting) and work it out. MAKE SURE YOU NEUTRALIZE ANY GAS FIRST!!!!!

If yours is anything like mine was, a flare nut wrench won't help as it was too large a fitting. Vice-Grips make this wonderful thing that looks just like a normal one, except it's meant to clamp down on 3 flat sides of a nut...and it will NOT round the nut. I've used it to take off some seriously frozen bolts, let me tell you.

Replace the fuel line, cut the fuel line and remove the nut with a socket.
