1996 6HP 'rude.
Facing the intake, top left side of the carb, in the middle, there is a spring loaded screw.
I assume it is a low speed fuel screw or an air pilot for the idle/low speed tract.
I have it 4 turns out from closed, and it idles extremely well, small adjustments will change the idle, rich or lean. Bugger idled well for a 1/2 hour easy, I shut it down.
Is that what that screw is for?
I am used to carbs that 1 to 1 ½ is a starting point.

are you talking about number 30? the idle adjustment screw? I can't tell what top center left is.

Or are you referring to number 15? the needle valve? If so you are correct.
