Re: carb setting

You might PM Joe Reeves for the initial setting for the low and high speed needles.

you might check your fuel pump diaghram for leaks. A leak there would load up the crankcase with fuel.

Re: carb setting

Fuel system is pretty simple. Premixed fuel runs from quick connect fitting on lower cowling to fuel pump "in" fitting. Fuel then exits fuel pump "out" fitting and goes to carb. The third hose on the fuel pump is the pulse line from the crankcase.

Clean the sediment bowl, check the pulse line for fuel. If the pulse line has fuel, the fuel pump needs rebuild. A dealer should still have a rebuild kit.

Re: carb setting

if you have adjustable high speed jets, I think the initial setting was 5/8 turn out. I am really not sure about that. You might PM Joe Reeves.

You need to set the high speed jets at high speed. Lift the adjustment pointer straight up and turn it around so it sits on the lip of the carb.

Have someone drive the boat at full speed (be real careful) and adjust each needle until you get clean smooth and fast running. Now drop the adjustment pointer over the needles and turn it a bit to see if you have the optimum high speed fuel/air mix.
