Carb Swap, 4Br Q-jet to Eldelb, 1490

i have a 89 5.7 mer-Cruiser engine with a 4br Q-jet carb, does anyone know if the Eldelbrock 1490 will bolt right on, is there an adaptor plate i need, or any other things i need to know before ordering . i would like to order what i need and have everything. Thank you for any help!

I believe it depends on your intake manifold. Some have holes to fit both carbs, some don't and you'd need an adapter. Why are you changing carbs?

i agree, why change out the q-jet? guaranteed, and it's been proven, that a PROPERLY overhauled and tuned q-jet will outperform most others. the cost of having the right carb guy rebuild the q-jet, will still be half the cost of the edelbrock carb. but that is the key, finding the q-jet magician. good luck
