Will the carbs from a 1977 70hp johnson fit a 1975 70 hp evinrude model 70573b? I am thinking about buying the 77 johnson for parts.

Re: Carb swap?

The innards of the carbs are slightly different, but they should swap out no problem. These are both fixed-jet carbs.

Thanks that is what I hoped would be the case. I noticed the slight difference in parts but didn't know if that would be a big problem. Hopefully I can get a couple more seasons out of my old rig before I am forced to get a newer one.

You'll probably get better performance out of the '77 carbs.

Better fuel economy for sure. The high speed jets in the 75 carbs are .061D, the high speed jets in the 77 are .054D.
