Just working on my carbie and wondered if the venturi is facing in the correct direction. I have look online but can not find any diagrams that show it clearly.

Re: Carb Venturi 1998 75 hp

Hmmmm! I am going to need to work on more late model Force engines. --I never saw a dip tube angled like that. However, logic dictates that the highest part of the tube face forward, away from the engine. So, if possible rotate the dip tube 90 degrees counterclockwise.

Since a venturi functions by speeding up airflow and lowering air pressure It might just work as is but unless someone else chimes in with definite knowledge contact the carb manufacturer (Tillotsen?) technical service and ask.

Thanks for the reply Frank.

The tube does look odd facing in that direction. As far as I know this is standard but it would be nice to know before I reassemble and retune.

I took your advice and emailed Tillotson. Hopefully they will have enough time to reply.

If anyone else in this forum has a 1998 75 hp Force with a single carburettor, model no. TC137A, would you mind having a look down the carburettor and seeing which way the venturi tube faces?

Thanks again.

Cheers

Just a quick update.

I received a response from Tilloston and they confirmed the venturi tube is correct.
