I was in the local outboard shop the other day and the only thing I could find was "PJ1 Professional Carbeuretor and Choke Cleaner". Would this product be suitable for decarbing my outboard or should I wait until I get over to the mainland to find something more suitable?

Thanks!

wait till you go someplace to find the correct chemical.
trying to decarb with carb cleaner can lead to disaster.

Carb cleaner will remove oil from the cylinder walls.
Decarb (seasfoam) has a lubricator added and will decarb the hard packed carbon without leaving the walls unprotected.

Mike you may have a hard time finding Seafoam up in the islands. All the engines mfgs make some sort of decarb mixture to use in you gas. What size and make of engine are you talking about? If you have a small portable tank it is easier to use. Look under the FAQ and follow the instructions there.
