took my 40 h.p 2stk in replace the choke sensor ....in doing so he replaced the plugs and checked the compression they are ..#1 is120-125 #2 is140-150 . he said the difference is maybe carbon build up. he suggested using a product called engine tuner and spay it in each cyl. and let it sit and then run it out. what do you think about this product? or is there another product out there that will clean the cyl's up. just don't want this motor going south.

These motors have a history.-----The difference in compression is a serious issue.----Remove cylinder head for an inspection.------Not sure what you mean by a " CHOKE SENSOR " on one of these motors.

choke sensor or solenoid......couldn't start with key (press in and turn key to start) always had to put throttle in neutral WOT and start it that way.

The compression diff is something to look into but if it was me I would give her the old Seafoam shock treatment and see if it helps the c issue with the compression. If you don't know what I am talking about there are a few really good tutorials on google.

If compression is the issue, I have had good luck with Engine Tuner and seafoam. Seafoam more readily available.

Take boat into middle of lake. At night preferably. (She will smoke like a locomotive when you do this, may anger neighbours!)

After warm, dump 3/4 of bottle into about a gallon of pre mixed fuel. Put other 1/4 in a spray bottle. Run at fast idle, and start spraying bottle into carb throat while it runs on the brew of gas/oil/seafoam. As stated, she will smoke like she is on fire. Do this until all gone, then back to dock. Take out plugs, spray some more into cylinder, then let it sit overnight.

In morning, hook up fresh gas and take her for a high speed run to clean her out. Plugs may need changing after this, as this frees up a lot of junk. I have increased compression by up to 25 psi with this method.

I've used the OMC Engine Tuner for over forty years and had super luck with it.
