HI ALL,WITH THE HEADS OFF HOW WOULD YOU CLEAN THE CARBON OFF THE PISTONS,SHOULD YOU WIRW BRUSH IT OFF? THANKS JD

Marine Doctor,<br /><br />The only engine tuner i can find is "Mercury Ingine Tune" Is this ok to use in my 86 Johnson 60HP

I would't clean the head on the pistion with a wire brush becaues you might scuff the clyinder walls if not carefull or you might scuff where the head gasket goes with that wire brush. If You also is using a steel wire brush you might get some metal left over form that brush that will cause corrsion in the clyinder.

You might try a piece of scrap hardwood to use as a scraper & tap with a hammer.
