Re: Carborator problem Johnson 115 V4 1979
O-k.
Tell ya what do. Get yourself a squirt bottle (the ones that mist are the best) and put some premix in it. The next time your engine falls on it's face, give the top carburetor a shot or two of premix and see what happens. If nothing, give the bottom carb a shot or two and see what happens. If spraying fuel into either carburetor has an effect (engine picks up and runs) that carb is the problem. If squirting the fuel has no effect on the engine, then we'll start looking at ignition stuff. There's a couple of other things you can try too. One is, when the engine stumbles, pump the fuel bulb and see if it's soft or not. If it is, get back and let us know. Another is, when the engine stumbles, choke it real quick and see what happens. This does the same thing as squirtting fuel in the carbs, but you can't tell which carb needs help.
Check this stuff out and lettus know what you find.

g'luck & c/6

Hooty
