Re: carbs fill with oil
The last time you ran your motor, you removed the fuel line so as to "run the motor out of fuel" didn't you???? Don't lie!! You did didn't you??? Well, ya can't do that! Here's why!! <br />As you run the fuel out of the carbs, the engine runs "lean" which means it runs "faster" just as it starts to use up the balance of fuel in the carbs. Ever notice?? Since the the engines runs faster, the piston that pulses the pulse line from the powerhead to the VRO starts pumping/pulsating faster( the VRO thinks the motor is using more fuel, it IS pulsating faster,so it provides more oil to lube the engine when in fact there is not anymore fuel in the carbs. The carbs get full of oil and a bear to restart!! This is especially true on a 3 cylinder engine more than other VRO motors, but the same holds true for any VRO motor! Additionally, if you have the motor cover off when you run it out of fuel, you will start hearing a rapping/knocking/tapping noise. This is the fuel portion of the VRO "slamming itself" against it's internal seat due to the fact that the liquid fuel normally cushions the internal componants. The fuel pieces will fail if you do this too often!! So, don't !!
