Carbs on a '79 Evinrude

My '79 Evinrude 35hp shop manual says nothing about spraying fogging solution into the carburetor throat while running. I've done this with all of my other old motors (this is the first time that I've winterized this motor). I also couldn't find the carburetor throat.

Do I not need to do this?

It's always a good idea to fog for storage, even though hoards of people ignore it. Anyway, your motor has an air silencer on the front of the carburetor. I think it has a plug that you can remove to get the spray nozzle in without removing the silencer.

I guess I'll have to read the manual and look around for that plug if it exists. In any case, I already pulled out the plugs and fogged the cylinders directly.

Do you need to do both or is performing either one (spraying through the carburetor / spraying through the spark plug opening) good enough?

Spraying through the carb lubricate's all the moving part's, not just the cylinder walls.
