I've rebuilt both carbs on my 1972 50HP Lark and put them back on the motor. The engine starts easily but is still running on #2 cylinder only. I swapped coil wires and it didn't follow the coil, still running on #2 only. I've installed new plugs and the #1 plug showed no signs of the cylinder getting fuel it was a shiny as it was when I took it out of the box, the #2 showed traces of oil and carbon.

I've pulled the #1 carb back off and tore it back down. The main jet and jet passageway are squeaky clean. There was fuel in the bowl when I removed it so it's getting fuel to the carb.

What else could cause the carb not to pull fuel from the bowl? The nozzle gasket was in place so that wouldn't be the problem. BTW the #1 clyinder has 85# compression, the #2 145#, don't know if that makes any difference on the the carb drawing fuel.

I'm going to swap the motor this winter, but would like to get it running good enough to chug to the fishing holes for a few more weeks.

That is a problem. May need to pull the head to see what is going on.
