Carburator gas line

just installed my rebuilt carb. it's leaking in the gas line connection can I use regular Teflon the white one used in plumming for the treads or is there a special gas Teflon to seal the threads

No,no teflon. But you can unbolt the carb from the base a bit so you can thread the lines to get em started right and straight.
Once they are correctly started, tighten down the carb, put a stabilizing wrench on the carb hex as a backer so you don't torque the carb as you tighten the fuel inlet fitting with a different wrench. You want to arrange the wrenches so the final tightening is done with the 2 wrenches pulling toward each other.

Ayuh,.... Then take it apart, 'n see Why,....

It's an inverted flare fittin' that uses no sealants at all, metal to metal flare seal,....

Yer's must be scratched or boogered up somewhere,....

Fix or replace the offendin' piece,...

Or cross threaded, as NH guy was suggesting. Easy to do on that fitting.
