What would cause excess gas to be burned, and what would be the fix? Could it be the Carbureter is on backwards? My port burns more than my starboard... I have crusader 220 1983's.

Re: Carbureter Question

Same spark plugs in both? Gapped the same?

Same coil. Compression the same?

What is the difference in burn rate?

Hmmm, in reference to burn rate, the starboard engine will burn 1/8th of a tank more.... so if starboard burns 1/8, port burns 1/4.....

The spark plug gaps are the same....
The compression is different. The port (problem engine) has compressiona at 50 , the starboard is about 30....

Both engines are a problem... Compression pressures should be around 160psi, with no more than 20 psi variant between any cylinders....

Sorry, I meant the oil pressure is 50 on the port and the starboard is 35... I know the heads were just serviced, so I am sure the compression on the port is fine, but the other I am not sure about...

Re: Carbureter Question

Maybe a different country measure different there.

Each cylinder should be around 160 psi. Pounds per square inch.
