Carburetor adjustment

My idle was real high, it was slamming into gear. Messed with two screws in the carburetor of 1987 40 hp Nissan. Does anybody know the factory start point for these screws?

The mixture screw should start about 2 turns out and adjust from there. The idle stop should have you idling below 1000 rpm.
