I have a 55 hp Chrysler Dual Carb. Both Carbs have a hole on the side of the casing near the top. When at Idle the top carb spits out a ton of gas but once I give it some throttle it stops. It sounds to me like the float isn't closing the needle valve, and has to be adjusted, I just rebuilt the carbs last year and I never noticed this problem untill now. Does anyone Agree whith my theory? Or am I overlooking something?

And If I may Share a quick success story.... I just spent the last 3 weeks rebuilding My 1979 Chrysler 55, and I tell you tracking down parts is quite the challenge for Chryslers, However Last night I finally got the starter back from being rebuilt and...SUCCESS She started before I Could even hear the starter motor turn over. I am sure most of you know that feeling when you finally get to turn the key, But being my first outboard rebuild Makes it that much better. Now if they would just stop tellin' me it's gonna rain this weekend!!

BTW... JB Nice juesture to the scout group with that engine you gave them. See we Canadians know you Americans are good people too. See y'all (as you Americans would say)

Re: Carburetor Overflow

You may have some gunk caught in the seat. Otherwise it needs adjusting.. IMO
