Carburetor q-jet difference ? Auto/ marine 305 gm

I HAVE A 79 CENTURY WITH 228 305GM LOADING UP PRETTY GOOD AT LOW RPM'S WHAT ACTUALLY IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AUTOMOTIVE AND MARINE OTHER THAN J-TUBES ? IS THE JETTING THE SAME ? I WOULD ASSUME SO BUT DO NOT KNOW - ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT BEFORE I WASTE MY MONEY

Ayuh,.... Unless ya loose the Cap-lock,.... Yer probably already wastin' yer time,....

I don't do Rochesters, so don't know....

The jetting is different the marine carb is internally vented, the accelerator pump spring and volume is different, Basically a marine engine is not smogged and runs richer and has a different power curve and different camshaft. An auto engine is smogged and runs lean.
If you do use it (illegal in an enclosed engine compartment) it will run like crap.

And likely fry up a few valves along the way.... If it doesn't send you on a little 'flying trip' before that...

Question.... Why do people risk doing thou$and$ worth of damage to an engine for the sake of a few dollars?
