i have a 89 dt30c and wile cleaning my carbs i noticed that this piece called a "CAP" p#13239-95000 was not uniform in all 3 carbs. IE, in the bottom carb it was hard, middle carb it was plyable but left a black residue on my hands and any thing elce it touched and the top carb it was falling apart. What are these things and what is thair purpose? and should they be replaced? If i need to replace them, were can i find them? thanks!

Re: carburetor question

looking at a parts breakdown of the carbs, it looks like it closes off the hole that the main nozzle is removed from during cleaning.
If I am correct and they are not in place then the fuel would not be metered through the jets, it would just suck it out of the bowl running too rich.

I would think they could be purchased at Suzuki dealer or online part web site.
