Carburetor & Valve Cover

engine: mercruiser 470, 2bbl carb.

how much fuel is suppose to spill back into the carburetor from the fuel pump overflow while the motor is running at idle?

i cracked my valve cover. where can I get a new or replacement? I can get a ford valve cover however it doesn't have the breather port on it that goes to the carburetor. HELP!

I don't think it should flow that way at all.Pump diaphram could be going bad.
If your real handy get the 460 cover and drill a hole and use a pickup from a junkyard.It's like a PVC valve with nothing in it.Jerry
