Well, this is finally it -- Thursday is the day Carol is scheduled for MGB (mini gastric bypass) surgery.
We wont have the laptop, so I'll catch y'all on the flipside.
Please keep Carol in your prayers. She is scared, but also sick of living like this.
This is not exactly what i had in mind for my vacation time, but then again, it's not exactly what I wanted to spend my "boat fund" on, yet far more important (lousey insurance company covers NOT ONE DIME of this procedure!!)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
UPDATE:
Well, Dr Peraglie told me all went extremely well on the slab, and that she had a very large liver (not good), but that the liver will shrink perportionately with the body fat.
We ruined the bed at the motel due to "leakage" from one of the inscission sites (scared the berjazzus outta me). The hotel staff (Ann, Kathy , Virginia and Jeff) at the "Admiral's Inn/Best Western" in Winter Haven were AWESOME about the ordeal we put them thru.
Carol has a little pain that she described as being like menstral cramping. Not bad enough to continue pain meds over. She and I are flabergasteed by her lack of appetite, even tho they warned us of it... She must be prodded to eat the crackers/yogart diet she will be on for the next week or so. No new "leaks" today so far.
The dogletts were in great hands here at home, as my seestir came down from Georgia, and baby-sat them. Sure is great to be home!
God Bless all of you. Is there a website like this anywhere else? I doubt it.
Y'all are da bomb.
Thank you everyone for both your prayers and karma.
We got home about an hour ago, and she is on the phone yakkiin-away --- just like nothin happened ( 'cept she has a subject) .
