After many hours I know that the items in the picture don't work.
Wire wheel on a drill just smears the adhesive.
I need HELP, BIGTIME!!!

Thanks in advance.

How long did you let the handi-strip set before trying to scrape it off?

I used citristrip then wiped it down with Xylol and scotch brite pad. Nuclear combo so use your PPE.

Mek Worked for me. I used a rag and lots of elbow grease. Be careful with Handi strip, as I believe it says not to use on fiberglass.

Would acetone or goof-off be options? They have always worked for me, but it depends how much glue you are talking about too.

Re: Carpet Adhesive Remover????

The Handi Strip sat for 28 minutes. I used the kind that was not for polyeurathane. my hope was this would not harm the glass.

Perhaps the adhesive was mixed with too much elbow grease... maybe I'm on to something???:D Many hours were spent on small sections.

MEK helped disolve the carpet backing, but the adhesive wont budge. I am not sure exactly what the previous owner used. Aiding the adhesion is the fact that it is bound within the cavities of a CSM fiber structure.

The "Nuclear" option mentioned above is starting to sound attractive. There's just something about "Nuclear"!

Thanks for all the suggestions so far.

Take off the high spots and cover it with carpet or rino liner perhaps.

Re: Carpet Adhesive Remover????

So... just to close this out: I tried just about everything and nothing would loosen the adhesive enough to remove it from where it was keyed into the fiberglass weave. When I sanded enough it dug into core material. Ended up removing the core. Problem solved.
