carpet and wood upgrading

what would be the best type of wood to use for re-doing the side paneling and also what type of carpet should i look at getting to re-do my floors?

its a 22' cuddy cabin the wood side paneling it has now is all rotten and falling apart.

Well, Captal, I still don't know much about your boat, but I can suggest that you don't put carpet in it. Carpet grabs and holds moisture. . . an invitation to rot. Use a non-skid waterproof coating similar to Rhino-Lining that you can hose off.<br /><br />The wood. If you have a classy boat use mahogany marine plywood with several coats of spar varnish. If your boat is more entry-level, use treated 1/4" A-C or A-D plywood, stained and varnished.<br /><br />Good luck.<br /><br />Red sky at night. . .<br />JB :)
