Hi all,
I have a 17.5 bowrider and like to install removable carpet. I got a decent piece of carpet from Costco for about $35 and like to know what is the best way to tack it down. I was considering using some velcro. Any recommendation on what type of glue to use on the velcro and the boat deck? I don't want to permamently glue the velcro to the deck. Any recommendation would be great.

Thanks.

Re: Carpet installation

That sounds like a tall order for an adhesive. Whatever you use, you'll have to sand the floor where you are going to use the adhesive to give it something to grab.

The deck is textured with those little non slip diamond patterns. I like to use an adhesive that I can remove later. Any recommendation?

Re: Carpet installation

My deck boat has removeable carpet. Each piece of carpet is bound on it's edges (won't fray) It attaches to the floor with regular round snaps(same kind as used to attach custom cover)FWIW
