Carpet Issues

So, When I purchased my Rinker at the beginning of the year, 2010, the only thing that was wrong with had to do with power steering. The hoses were blowing and, eventually, I found where the problem was, i.e., cooler was plugged up.

I had the "dog house" off and power steering fluid got all over the carpet. So I cleaned it up and after I cleaned it, my wife used a actual carpet cleaner and cleaned the whole boat.

The section where the fluid got, I think it dissolved the adhesive. Now the carpet is loose and wrinkly. Is there a way to fix it, do I have to take the carpet up and try to re-glue it? Sounds like an obvious question but I was actually thinking of making small incision and then shoot glue in and pulling tight down.

Thoughts?

Sounds like you are on to it, I would make a small cut and spread a bunch of glue under it then put something heavy on it till it sets, if you are careful you shouldn't be able to see the cut.

You can do it without cutting the carpet if you use a syringe to inject glue under the carpet and then weight it with a piece of plywood and anything heavy on top. A five gallon bucket full of water works well, so does an anchor. You don't necessarrily need a medical syringe. The type used to inject marinades into turkey will work well too.
