Carter Fuel Pump Rebuild

Does anyone know where I can find a mechanical fuel pump rebuild kit for a Carter 60032?

Ayuh,.... I haven't seen a fuel pump Rebuild Kit, nor starter Bendix available in over 20 years,...

Thank you, I was afraid of that I've seen a few rebuild kits for other Carter fuel pumps, look mostly for cars.

Is it safe to replace with an electric fuel pump?

You can use a marine rated electric fuel pump, but you'll also need an oil pressure switch so the pump doesn't continue running when the engine is not running.

I'm not exactly sure what your fuel pump looks like, or what engine it comes from, but I was successful in rebuilding my carter fuel pump on my 470. You can check out my thread on that here. See if your pump matches up with mine and the one in the catalog listing.

Searching for Carter 60032, I see a pump that looks like mine, except the pictures have it upside-down from how mine sits, though I don't know if that matters. If it's the same pump, go for it. Much cheaper than buying new...
