I've been looking around various boats for sale web sites and I came upon this one in Florida.

http://www.yachtworld.com/core/listi...g_id=75995&url

I can't believe the price for a 1993 with 38 hours on twin Volvos. Boats of this size are listed anywhere from $45K up to $65K.

I'm sure it's a salt water boat, but still.....I'm flabbergasted. If I didn't live so far away, Canada, I'd have a look.

Any insight from you guys will be very welcome

IMO, needing TLC probably means the engines run and the boat drives, but there may be maintenance items that need to be done. Pumps, blowers, hoses, electrical work etc... The carpet inside shows stains, and I see signs of window leaks, the exterior upholstery may need work, the canvas might. TLC to me means a boat that has not been upkept and maintained at every turn and may need some freshening up. I doubt any of the items are detrimental, but they could be costly if they are required by the new owner.

Both of my signature boats were in need of TLC. Similar to what was described above. Some things I could live without (not perfect canvas, some cosmetic issues, etc...), some items needed to be done (deferred maintenance like blowers, bilge pumps, hoses, lines, tunes ups etc...).

A needs TLC boat can be a great way to get a lot of boat for short money. It will need work, time and some more money thrown at it, but can be a good investment.
