trying to find a good link, should get $1000 for Camry, also a $750 check from insurance co. for guy that rear ended it in March - ins co wont total it out as the low miles, so hey won't have to worry bout selling it to someone with a bunch of minor fixes it needs - is this still a current program? Thanks guys!

yeah any current "cash for clunkers" program is run by dealerships who inflate prices to match what they say you're getting for your clunker.

we have a couple around here that advertise that way still.

Yes CA still two programs to retire cars. Supposedly you can sell them your car at anytime as long as it has been registered to you for the last two years and the registration is current.
Car Scrappage - Voluntary Accelerated Vehicle Retirement

The other program is if your car doesn't pass smog they will give you $1K for your car. I'm not sure what the difference is in the two programs. Give them a call and see what they say.

You can get $1500 for your car if your household income is no more then 225% of the federal poverty guide line.

Yeah, a dealership around here used to have what they called, "Tug it, Tow it or Tell us where it is." They guaranteed a minimum $2000 trade in on any car in any condition.

Yeah, go in and make your best deal and then tell them about your trade. Won't be the same price.

Another trick I saw used was telling you that they will give you something like 4k in trade which sounds good until you see the 4k is deducted from the list price which we all know is inflated to the point that they most likely are getting your trade for nothing.

Yep, it's all just a manipulation of numbers.
