I can see I'll be spending alot of time on this forum, it's awsome! Ok, I have a 1989 Sea Ray 180 with a 4.3 V6 Merc and am replacing the manifolds and risers. My question is cast iron or aluminum? Aside from the weight advantage, what are the pros and cons of Aluminum? I mainly run the boat at the Colorado river and very seldom in salt, and when I do I flush diligently with salt terminator. I've only had this boat 2 years and will be asking many more questions. Thanks in advance!

Re: Cast Iron or Aluminum manifolds?

If you run at all in salt, I would stick with cast iron. Other than weight, there are no other reasons to use aluminum.
