Casting platform

So I have this new 16' boat. I want to building a casting platform from the front seat to the very front. Problem is there is what i'm told is a deck in my way. The picture shows what I mean. If I remove this I'm removing some support. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to replace this?

you are removing support, also that boat is not stable enough for a raise deck platform. put it in the water, and stand on the front deck, you will see what i mean.

I guess maybe I am not totally clear on what I mean. I'm not going to really put it up that high..curtainly not at the same level as the deck is now. I was thinking just a bit lower than the seat in front. Do you think that would be to unstable?

Ayuh,.... You've been Quite Clear in All of your posts about this,....

And,...
Everybody has been quite clear with their responces,...

The Cover that's there now IS structual,+ that boat Doesn't lend itself to what you want to do.....

You either need a "Plan B" or a different hull...

you can put a plywood floor in it, to make standing easier. but a platform, raises the center of gravity too far in that type boat. this is why you see bass boats that are 7 feet wide, rather than 4 feet.

Arkman, why not start one restoration thread to track your project from start to finish. You can ask all your ? in the one thread and it will make what your doing easier for us and youself to follow. Just a thought
