17' fiberglass fishingboat with 96 40hp Mariner.Last week I spun the vengeance prop pn#48-76230A5-14P . In inspecting the prop i noticed the leading edge facing the boat has a line that looks like it was sand blastedabout half inch from edge. Also the trailing edge opposite side of the blade has same effect from edge in 3/4 inch from hub to blade tip. Would this indicate cavitation ? Later this week I will take to prop shop to re-hub, would having the trailing edge cupped help? I have noticed the boat will porpoise and when turning tite it tends to vent. It was not a good week on the lake as the trim went out as well, motor turn good (new brushes), it has fluid Ive cyceled numerous times but still nothing. I will probably let the shop fix that. I intend to add smarttabs to help with the propoising. I am very open to suggestions

what your discribing sounds like the prop went aground ,sand, solt & gravelwill do that to the prop.Could it have happened when the prop hub was spun.P/T might have air in sys.
