CDI Coil - Correct Connection Merc 50

Hi. Thanks to help here I found out I could convert my 66 merc 50 points setup to a CDI setup from a 77 (I think) serial no. 7052356.

Motor now runs with the CDI. When doing the conversion I put the wires on the same way as they were on the 77.

Now that I'm cleaning things up - like mounting the coil properly instead of using ty-wraps, I notice what might be a wiring problem.

I now notice that the coil wires are marked GRD and CON.

I've hooked the CON to ground and the GRD to the Green terminal on the switch box.

Is this correct?

Thanks for the very prompt reply.

I suspected GRD stood for ground.

Sure ran well for being hooked up wrong.

Wonder if it will affect the life of the coil.
