1977 evinrude 115 model # 115793s, My old power pack had no fire at all. I have a new pack from CDI 113-1731 which replaces the pack for my engine.
I have installed the new pack and have no fire on #2 coil, I have swaped the coil wire of the cylinder not firing with one that does on the pack and it fires. So all my coils are good. I am getting no fire on #2 screw which is# 3 coil on the power pack. what could it be? Please help.

Swap the sensor wires....
Is it not firing at cranking speed or when running?

Re: CDI power pack

I agree with what Faztbullet is getting at - you may have a bad sensor in your timer base. That's usually the case, when you have one cylinder not firing or misfiring and you know the ignition coils are all good.

You can switch the sensor leads at the powerpack, to see if the coil that was not firing then behves as it should. This will confirm the sensor problem, as well as the fact that the new powerpack is fine, which it probably is.

Do this test with a spark checker and pull your other plug wires - don't try to run the engine with the sensor coil leads switched, because the timing will not be correct, after you do.
