Re: Census results

Atta boy, Bob..just slip down one more notch and that bottom of the pile award will be yours!!

Hey, good for you guys..I wish I lived in a state that was not growing. When I first moved here many moons ago the population was around 7 million. Not anymore...we just picked up two more representatives over the past decade.

Someone said they need to shut the gate...;)

Oh well, no one knows where Masaryktown is anyway, so not too many folks snooping around here....:)

Oh, I think I get it?
The VT after Bobs name stands for Vermont.
That's different!

There's a whole lot of vacant commercial and industrial buildings and very affordable housing here in Michigan. Anyone is welcome to come and enjoy the great boating we have here, and please bring your business with you.

I think we are still competing with Mississippi for 50th in economic standings.

I think we lost population in Louisiana too- we are about to lose a Congressman. After Katrina, quite a few people in SE Louisiana moved to other places. In many cases, they evacuated and just never came back.

308 million people
13.8 trillion in debt (and rising every second)

anyone got a REALLY big calculator? mine can't count that much debt.

works out to....$45k/person...man, woman, child, 'citizen' or not (whatever being citizen is good for anymore)

ouch

Unemployment around 12-15% will usually precipitate a "mass exodus". In our case it's the loss of auto manufacturing jobs, and all other sectors that depend on those folks to spend money.

Those of us who choose to stay(translation--those of us lucky enough to still have a job here) enjoy less crowded waters.;)

We have a couple of industries around here that are closely tied to the auto manufacturing industry (upolster/leather and window glass). Both are running at near capacity and there is talk of expansion. Workers are getting lots of OT and temps are getting permanent positions from what I am told. Hopefully that will bod well for you Michiganites in the near future.

Yep, we fell under 1 million registed boats a couple years ago. Still, Lake St. Clair can still get crowded on a sunny weekend.

There's still that many people in Vermont? I figured Bob was the last holdout.
