I'm a highschool student restoring a fiberglass cc sea lark inboard with a ford 302 for a school year long project. Its 19' and I am starting my project this weekend. I've bought a reciprocating saw, a respirator, goggles, and shop vac. What is my first step? It is made of two molds. Lift the deck mold off the hull mold and start replacing stringers and such? Any advice would be awesome. Thanks!

Some call me determined.... others who know me better just say i'm stubborn

Welcome to iboats. Depending on how bad your boat is will determine how far to go. Transom, stringers, deck, it will be a big project but there are a lot of experienced people here. Pictures help a lot. A lot of us use photobucket. (photobucket.com) and resize and send links to this site. Good Luck with you project.:)

Ayuh,.... Strip the hull....
Remove all the hardware,+ motor, drive....
Then pull the rub rail,...
Then you can split the upper hull/ deck off the base hull to repair/ replace the Guts of the hull...

ok, yea so far i've removed all the hardware, it had no rub rail so that was easy haha, and i've got the upper deck/hull and the lower hull seperated...just have had the man power to lift it up and off yet. i dont know how i'm going to get the engine out....its a big sucker and i would need an engine lift that can get the engine to clear my boat, so like....8 feet maybe (just to be safe). or should i just use a chain hoist and build a frame out of lumber that i can suspend the deck and engine from?

Re: Center Console Sea Lark

Hello,

My father was the designer and builder of Sea Lark Boats. I am intrigue by your post, as I have been searching for one of the 19 ft Sea Lark Tunnel Drive IB models to buy and restore. Where are you doing this restoration (State/City)?

If I could provide any original pictures, specs or info, let me know. As a young teenager, I would work in the factory in the Florida Keys on the 19 production line after school hours and summer break. Most likely, I either was a part of your boat's assembly or test ran it at some point. Good Luck with your project and post pics of your progress.

WOW! ok wow, uhh dream come true here! ok, uhmm anything you can provide would be great! stringer pattern, blue prints, etc. who ever owned it before it was given to me tried to rebuild it and did an extremely poor design and lamination job. at the moment the whole hull is stripped. the cap is off and stringers (minus the engine supports) are gone, and the transom is also gone. the ford 302 is still in it due to the fact that i havent been able to find an engine lift big enough yet. but other than that the project is coming great. I just need to decide what to do about stringers and my transom. i already have designed my deck. and then i just need money to get all the electrical/engine supplies.

and i live in Lucas, TX
