Well, I'm gathering parts to add to the new long block 351 and had a question. I'm going to buy the Osco center-riser manifolds to convert from the old log-style manifolds. It appears that all of the center-riser manifolds only use 4 of the 8 exhaust studs?! Seems like that would put a lot of weight on only 4 bolts, in addition to possible exhaust gasket sealing issues.

The only think I can figure (since I haven't seen the manifolds in person) is that they somehow just use shortened studs for the other 4 holes that rest inside the casting for support, but aren't tightened. Then the remaining 4 studs go all of the way through the casting to be tightened down?

Also, another question I had was if anyone has ever drilled/tapped into the manifolds in order to bolt the water/fuel separator bracket? Think it could be done without damaging anything?
