Does anyone have info on the Century Mustang 195 bowrider?
I am interested in buying a 1983 model which seems to be invery good condition.
I am wondering if there is anyone who share info on experiences with this model and if there are any special items that I should check real closely.

Thanks.

Did you buy it? I have a 1984 Century Bronco. I was told to check the transom for rotting wood ( a common problem with some Century boats.

Re: Century Mustang 195

We have a 85 Mustang and love it. BUT,, it had a rotten transom from prior owners not replacing bellows that were bad. I removed the Merc 140 engine and outdrive completely. Cut the fiberglass skin off the inside of the transom and dug out all the bad wood and replaced it with glued up 3/4: plywood that was 1 1/2" inches thick and held together with stainless screws and fiberglass resin. Filled in with angel hair and resin and then applied a new skin with fiberglass cloth. Replaced the engine and stern drive and all is well. These boats run good at 40mph with the Merc140 which is a 2.5L GM engine made for Mercruiser. I now also own a 84 Century 3000BR 20ft I/O with a Merc 228 V8 which is a GM 305 engine. Just finishing replacing bad floors with 3/4 PT Plywood and replacing original carpeting. I can't wait to try this one out. You CANNOT beat the Century Hulls. They run really well in rough water like on the St.Lawrence River. The transom repair was a big project but well worth it. Took about a week altogether.
