This is the first time that I have been on this site and I hope someone can help me out. I have a 2003 Caravelle 187. I took it out for a spring test run and it ran perfect for about 2 hours. After that, it just died in the water. I was not able to get it restarted for several days. I replaced the coil. I took it out again and it ran fine for 1 hour and then did the same thing as before. I have changed the coil, the fuel filter, and the oil. I was tolled that it could be the run/off switch on the throttle and drive control. I took out the switch and had it checked at the dealer and they said it was bad. Now I have a new one but don't remember what wire go's where. I have two solid purple wires coming from the boat wiring harness that the other switch was connected to and I have one solid black wire and one black wire with a yellow stripe coming from the switch. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciated. Thanks, Chris

Welcome, and make sure you check the Adult Sticky at the top and download the service manual for your engine and drive. The original Mercruiser service manuals are there for a free download. Between the manuals and this site, you should be able to fix about anything with your propulsion system.
