Re: Chain saws

A Stihl MS 170 will do all that you want to do. You can use up to a 16" bar. They are lightweight and powerful. We have one that is over 10 years old and still runs like new. It cuts faster than the larger Shindaiwa 500 that I have, and only weighs about half as much. You can get them new for about 180 bucks.

Re: Chain saws

Thanks for all the replys.
I tried the Stihl 192 and it didn't have nearly the power as the 200T I looked at the other day. I was going to look at a Husqvarna 445 tonight but the guy with the 200T called today and reconsidered my offer of $180. He couldn't find the large bar or chain but had the sprocket and owners manual, so I gave him an even $200.
Yeah I know it's an arborist climbing saw, but it's super lightweight and powerful. It suits my needs just fine. One of these days I'll pick up a 14 or 16 inch bar/chain and be all set, but I gotta say, that little 10" carving bar is pretty sweet for trimmin' and limbin'!
