chainsaw or sawzall?

well i have not had any luck tring to give away my 74 mfg capice hull and i do not want it here another winter, soooooo...... i have decided to pull the last few good parts on it like the windshield , blower motor, horn, lights, hardware and take it to the dump. landfill fees are quite steep by me these days so it's much cheaper to cut it up and consolidate the mass as opposed to bringing it whole. my question is sawzall, or chainsaw? i know my chainsaw will be quicker, but i was conserned how much of a mess it will make as opposed to doing with a sawzall ? was really hoping it would not come to this but the leaves are starting to fall and old man winter is right around the corner. anyone who has done this please chime in? thanks - mike

My vote is for the sawzall for less mess...I have not cut up a boat, but did cut a fiberglass bathtub recently during a remodel. The sawzall made quick work of it.

i think the sawsall would be the way to go, the chain saw would be quicker BUT the mess would cover every thing.
i have sent you a PM about a part

woosterken-pm sent.
yes , i envisioned fiberglass everywhere with the chainsaw. knew the sawzall would be less messy, just want to make it as simple a job as possible all the way around

From my own experiences using both a chainsaw and a sawzall. I would suggest using the Sawzall along with a friend fallowing as close as they can with a shop vac. Doing it this way will greatly help in the over all dust and mess factor.

A chainsaw just makes a huge mess and is not really any faster.

Glad to hear an MFG didn't have to be put down, specially a 74.
