change impeller on 2000 merc 250

How difficult is it to do this maintenace job myself? Im not a mechanic. I do have the manual.

FWIW,<br />1997 225 EFI<br />I replace my lower gearcase this past March. I struggled during the re-installation and the secret was to,<br /><br />>dis-connect the shift cable from the motor while it is in neutral. This enables the shift shaft to rotate slightly making the splines line up easier. Says to do so in the "factory" shop manual.<br /><br />The pump replace procedure is quite easy.
