I just picked up a 1968 evinrude sportfour 65hp motor that I would liked to mount on my 1972 MFG Gypsy 15 foot, however this motor has mounts that bolt thru transom my boat transom has no holes. this motor will be my secondary motor since I will be change it out to fish on smaller lakes. my question is can i convert this motor over to a clamp style. I have 40 hp evinrude with clamps & 9.5 hp with clamps. PLEASE ADVISE, thanks!:

Re: Change Mounting Bracket

Welcome to iboats!

It would be cheaper and easier to just mount it with stainless steel bolts and large washers.

It is a 1968 and trying to find those parts alone my prove frustrating.

Re: Change Mounting Bracket

65 hp will not have a mount with clamps. why change it out. just use an aux bracket and mount the 9.5 on it.
