Change of gear ratio? Volvo AQ280

I have two AQ280 drives. One on the boat (1.89 ratio) and one in shed (1.61). I have a AQAD40B motor..will it make a difference?

I want to swap drives across but keep same ratio so boat performs same. How can you do it? is it lower part of leg to be swapped? How hard is it?

Your RATIO gears are in the lower unit and yes it is critical .
